Sony’s free PhyreEngine expands to PSP
Posted in Playstation Portable on March 10th, 2010 by Pirata Nervo

Sony has announced, today, that they’re updating the PhyreEngine, a free and cross-platform middleware tool offered to developers wanting to develop PS3 games.

The PhyreEngine has been utilized in games like Critter Crunch, Shatter and Flower and today, SCEA has announced the expansion of PhyreEngine compatibility to the PSP.

To quote SCEI senior VP of technology Teiji Yutaka:

We’re very happy to see the continued popularity of PhyreEngine with the global game developer community,

PhyreEngine for PSP was developed in response to requests from the game developer community, and we hope that the release of the PSP version demonstrates our commitment and support for game developers on all our platforms.

I really want to see what will come out of this!
